SQL 2005 SCHEDULED BACKUP?

I am new to sql, and am attempting to learn how to schedule a backup. When I right click on the database and choose backup, I do not get the schedule option at the top like I see in a lot of examples or as the books explain. Can someone tell me why I do not have this option available? Do I need something else running to enable this option?
