Hi All,
I am using Crystal Reports in Visual Studio 2003.  I need to put two separate detail sections side by side (Left to Right).  However, I am not able to modify the width of the detail section.  I can change the length easily.  Does anyone know how to change the width.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right click the Detail section header band and choose Format Section.
In the Section Expert, click the property "Format with Multiple Columns".
This will create a new tab at the top called Layout; Click on the Layout tab.
Under the Layout tab is a place where you can set the desired Width of each column and also the direction you wish to have it print.

Thanks.  But it appears that the columns have to be even.  Is there a way to make each column a custom size?

Not that I know of.

Ok, What about putting the Page Header data on the left and the details on the right?

Can that be done?

Hi.

You can make two detail sections like that:

AAAAAAAAA
                  BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB

and mark the first detail section with "Underlay Following Section".
The first section height should be minimal.

Thank you,
PW

PW,
I am not sure I understand how that would help.  Here is an example of the type of setup that I need:

The information on the left is a grouping (Although several other fields will be there as well.  The information such as date, name, description, rate, size are line items within the report.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Will the report always have that format?

Left column
Several blank lines
Origin:
Database Field
Blank Line
Database Field

Right Column
Header
Line
Blank Line
3 rows of data

If so you could build a subreport for the right column then play with the positioning a little so it lines up properly with the lines in the left column (main report)

mimcc,
What I was thinking (and please let me know if this would work) is to build the left sided info (Origin and Destination in the Page Header area.  Then on the right side of the page header area, place a sub report with just the detail area showing and line it up.

Would this work?
