Not able to print PDF files from a published application.

We are printing documents from an application that is published on Citrix Servers.  When we send files to print on our "Local Printer" ( a mapped Client Printer ), the PDF files do not print.  All of our others do.  If we print the same PDF file from a local copy of the application to the same "Windows" local printer it prints fine.

Has anyone had any experience with this?  We have Adobe Reader on the Citrix Servers.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What driver are you using on the server compared to the driver on the local workstation?  Is it the Universal Print Driver, a mapped driver, or the native driver?

Also, what version of Citrix & what client version?

This is from a question posted recently as well.

According to this, the problem may be how Acrobat was installed.

Try uninstalling Acrobat, and reinstalling  FROM THE CONSOLE and ensure you are using Add / Remove Programs.

We have a PDF printer installed on our Citrix servers which works fine when our users print PDF files.

but is it the same as on the workstation?  do this:

log into citrix with the PDF printer set as the default on the workstation,
go to the printers folder in citrix
right-click the default (auto-created) printer and go to properties
on the advanced look at the driver and compare with the driver that's specified on the workstation when you look at it's printer properties

The issue is not with creating the pdf file the problem lies in printing the pdf file to paper. All other document types print to paper fine.

ok the same procedure applies to any printer though.  Just forget I said "PDF printer":

log into citrix with the printer set as the default on the workstation,
go to the printers folder in citrix
right-click the default (auto-created) printer and go to properties
on the advanced look at the driver and compare with the driver that's specified on the workstation when you look at it's printer properties
