AS/400 - SNMP linkDown/Up trap generated & Collection Services is not running
In my Qsysopr message queue I keep getting the following messages that are apparently "not needing a reply":
"Collection Services is not running. PM eServer iSeries requires the Collection Services to be running."
"SNMP linkUp trap generated."
"SNMP linkDown trap generated."
It is under the "not needing a reply" section, but since these messages keep poping up throughout the day it is making me nervous.
How worried should I be? Is this normal?
Is this an indicater that the network is experiencing problems? It seems to be okay.
It makes it sound like the AS/400 keeps losing its connection, but then it comes back up.
Are the collection services and link trap errors related?
Can anyone give me some insight?
