I think David's got you on the right track -- delete the normal.dot file (which governs the defaults for Word documents), then re-start Word. &nbsp;Word will re-create the normal.dot file with all the &quot;factory defaults&quot; restored.<br />

C:\Documents and Settings\user.name\Applica<wbr />tion Data\Microsoft\Templates<br />
