I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Linux is able to certify the users querying windows AD. With any distro you got a Config Manager. In the Security section you'll find the Authentication Type you want to use (Win Domain in this case). Usually that'all.

I've not used it, so I'm not able to tell you how this works (fine or not), but is just a schema extension and the project seems abandoned, so I do not advice you to use it. The best way ever is to use the methods integrated in the OS (so also well maintained) in a production environment.

On the Microsoft side (I forgot because I prefer Linux ;) ) you can use MIIS: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/interopmigration/linux.mspx
