VPN accross broadband from a dumb terminal

I want to set secure access to a network using simple dumb terminal and VPN accross broadband. Does anyone have any reccomandations as to configuration and hardware to achieve this.

    I would use a thin client device with vpn software and a certificate on a smartcard along with password access.

    neoware, wyse and hp all make decent thin clients

    vpn solution would be your choice

    smartcard increases the security, but you could use password only
