htacess and godaddy

I am having our website, bgchemical.com, hosted on godaddy.  I also have one other person that needs to be able to add and delete files to the virtual server.  I have my own credentials and thought that I could go to godaddy's c panel and just add another user.  Well no dice and after talking to the tech support guy he said that I needed to access the htaccess and do it from there.  He could not provide any more assistance than that.

I am new to this htaccess thing and am trying to understand how to accomplish this goal to add another account to be able to allow a user to upload and delete files as needed.  Can someone help me out here.  I know I sould like a jackass (probably am), but I am just new to this not an idiot.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I dont think that you can do it using htaccess. As far as I know, it is not possible unless godaddy provides some functionality for that. Try asking godaddy support for another username and password. I dont think that it is possible using htaccess.

Don't know if this will help you or not with the htaccess:
http://www.vinoline.com/help/

I looked around on Godaddy's "support" site (http://help.godaddy.com) and couldn't find ANYTHING on creating new cpanel accounts, ftp accounts, etc..  It looks like they really must want to discourage customers from giving out access to other people.

Another option might be to look into a web-based file management script:

For PHP:

For ASP:

Hope that helps ;)
