Although the answer was close to the problem I had it led me in the right direction to find the correct solution. The solution provided was for attachments that were blocked. The problem I had was the attachment would not open. The solution for my problem was in the same area of the registry. hkey_current_user\software<wbr />\microsoft<wbr />\office\11<wbr />.0\outlook<wbr />\security.<wbr /> The string outlooksecuretempfolder value was pointing to a folder I did not have access to. I changed it to the temporary internet files folder and now the attachments open normally.<br />

I use outlook with lotus connector as my email client. When opening c.htm attachments, I get the following error. Cannot create file: c.htm. Right click the folder you want to create the file in and then check the properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions folder. <br />
I used to be able to open these attachments with no problem and all other attachments open with no problem.<br />
