Email Forward Via exchange server NOT outlook & Auto Reply

Mail Forwarding via Exchange
I am using exchange server 2003. And Outlook 2003 Clients.

I want to have various email accounts like  sales@abc.com, info@abc.com, etc.. all go to
one email account  kjohnson@abc.com .  Im having problems figuring out how do I do that ??

Auto reply
I read many posts on here related to mail forwarding to internal or external email addresses
as well as Auto-Replies, but they seem to rely on Outlooks RULES.  Its my understanding outlook must be
open for these rules to work, even auto replies. Well when people go on vacation
they usually turn off their computers. So cant this be done on the exchange server side and if so how?

1 Solution
If you go into ADUC and go to the properties for the kjohnson user object and then go to the email addresses tab.  In there you can add all the various email addresses that you would like to go to that particular user.

It is possible to forward mail at the server level.  If it is an external account you will need to create a contact in AD with the appropriate external email address.  Then on the user account that you want mail to be forwarded from, go into the properties and then go into the delivery options under the exchange general tab.  In there, you can use the contact that you created to forward mail to an external address.
