Style XP corrupt login screen, how do I restore the default?
A buddies machine has Style XP installed. Every time he reboots the login screen changes. This has been fine, but evidently one of the login screens is corrupt so we get the error:
Parser Message
Value Creation Failed at Line 12
I've tried restoring an old registry using Barts PE, but evidently it doesn't grab the login screen source from the reg.
How do we restore the login screen to the Windows default?

try this, mount the HDD to another person' Windows Box, then replace the C:\windows\resources\theme s with the working copy of windows XP.
after that you can try booting again
if you can get into safemode, change the theme to something else with the NORMAL Windows Display Settings thing, not the theme xp..

Why not try using Windows restorer from Start>Accessorie>System tools>System Restorer. And restore your buddies computer to a previous date. Then if you like install style xp again...lol

As I stated before, you can't boot all the way into Windows at all. Therefore System Restore is unavailable.
I figured it out anyway. What I did was load the systems registry in Barts PE and then changed the reg key value in
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Wi ndows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon \UIHost from what it was to "logonui.exe" This restores the default Windows logon, and then I uninstalled StyleXP for him.
