Cannot join workgroup

I have a laptop with Win2K. I want to join the local workgroup for networking. But when I go to the Network Identificaion tab under My Computer, the area used to enter (and change) the workgroup name is greyed out. I can change the computer name, but not the workgroup name.

How do I get this PC to join the workgroup?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Do you have "Client for Microsoft Networks" installed?  You can install it under properties for your network connection.
