How to limit the max length of text in Rich Text box control?

I have a rich text box control. How do I limit the the max number of character it can take?

    Yes, I know the property of MaxLength. What I am looking for is the script that can handle the daa validation. But I guess i have just figured that out. Thanks a lot.
