1.Emergent Technologies developing next-gen game engine for PS3

Emergent has released an Xbox 360 compatible version of Gamebryo 2.1,and it has currently been used as the basis for at least one Xbox 360 title: Bethesda has based their launch window title "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" on the next-gen game engine.

Emergent's most significant competitor in the next-gen game engine market is Epic Games, creators of Unreal Engine 3. Epic has already created Xbox 360 and PS3 compatible versions of its next-gen game engine, and boasts such licensees as Namco, Midway and Microsoft Game Studios.
