asked on
SmartIssue Error message and Virus infection
Greetings,
I have two problems:
First when I start up my computer, I am greeted w/ a small dialog box (whose title bar is "SmartIssue" stating:
ActiveX component can't create object
Src: Microsoft VBScript runtime error
Line:6 Error:0 Scode:800a01d
Second, I purchased Norton System to install on my computer as my old one had expired. Now I can not get it to do the preinstall check it fails everytime I have tried. I have gone to Symantec's website and looked for viruses that might be causing me problems, it comes up with some infections I had in my norton that I unistalled now I dont know what to do and am lost completely. I also did a spybot search & destory but it gets so far and then my computer restarts by itself ...
Please I need help in correcting this problem.
Much "MUCH" thanks,
Christygirl

p912s,
I followed the direction as it looked like everything went well in removing the old norton, so with fingers crossed I went to download the new Norton SystemWorks and it once again failed on me. Any other suggestions I might be able to try?
Thanks agian,
Christygirl

What did you do? Download and run the Rnav2003.exe utility?
Here's the Norton Uninstall Tool

I am sorry about the delayed reply, I have been exstremely busy with my daughters wedding and out of town, and to answer any questions from my orignal post, the answer was no ..none of the links worked, my computer started crashing and freezing with everything I tried. So I dropped windows all together and have installed linux, however, on my other drive I still have the prestant problem and am open to suggestion on how to cure the problem.
Thanxs,
