Hard disk bad sectors

Can anybody suggest me a software where I can clear the bad sectors from the hard disk.

Hi sherif60,

No software can repair bad sectors sometimes a low level format with the manufactors tools may get them good again but this doesnt always last

bad sectors are a physical problem and not a software - your best bet is to remove your data and replace the disk, once the bad sectors start, they will spread

running scandisk will mark the sectors as bad and windows wont try and use them, but this is just a workaround    your disk is nearing its end of life

I don't know that there is such a thing as clearing bad sectors, bad sectors are bad sectors as Jay_Jat7 stated, but there is a tool called SpinRite that has restored several drives for me. It is like "snake oil", cures all, and have no idea how it actually works. I have had disks that were unrecoverable, chkdsk wouldn't run on them, etc. I then ran SpinRite, and in many cases the disk would boot, and pass the manufacturers diagnostic tests. Not to suggest it will repair all drives, but in a non-critical environment I have put these drives back in place and run for years. Having said that, in my opinion, once you have bad sectors, recover the data and replace it, especially in a mission critical environment. SpinRite has also allowed me to restore the data to the point where I could copy the data in many other situations. For the record, set up a separate machine to run SpinRite. Although in most cases I find it takes 4-20 hours to "repair" a drive I have had it take 5 days and lots of people say longer. You can read more about it at:
No software can cleas "physical" bad sectors, but HDD Regenerator can help you in case of physical errors related to magnetics.

Find it here :
Once physical bad sectors formation is started in your hard drive, immd backup all your data and replace with new hardisk other wise one fine day you may get an error sector not found and other related errors which makes your life tough to get back your data.
