Internat usage Monitor

Hi All,

I need an application that can monitor all internet activity on 40 PC's after 5pm, (windows XP & Windows Server 2003)

I would like to setup a proxy server to do this so I can easily add users if needed.

Does anyone have any suggestions, ideally open source or freeware?

Thanks,
Joe

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This isn't free or open source, but you can try WinGate (http://www.wingate.com)

well an open source proxy server is Squid.  Its a pretty smart piece of software and should be able to do the user stuff you want (not sure though).  However, I'm definitely not an expert on Squid and would have to refer you to just asking more questions on EE.  I know what you can do with Squid too, is block urls, ips, etc. on a time basis and on a per user basis (but that requires authentication, which is where the per user stuff I believe comes in).

I would suggest you get Track4Win, which will do the tasks you describe. Check www.systracker.com for information. I have used it in our network, and it does the job...
