Runtime error

I recently bought a program called dwgseepro which is a program that allows you to view autocad drawings. If I start the program then OPEN a drawing from its directory location in explorer its OK. However, if I click on a drawing ICON I get an error message which says "Microsoft visual c++ runtime library. Runtime error and thats it, I can go no further. I Have reinstalled XP just in case it was the operating system at fault but it still happens. The manufacturer said reinstall the program which I did but the problem persists.

Any ideas ?

When you run dwgseepro.. it loads the necessary DLL system files required to view your drawings.. Apparently, this has to be running.

one way we could circumvent this is to associate the .dwg file to the program that supposed to launch.

First find out what command executes DWGSEEPRO.. locate from the Programs start menu.. right-click and choose properties.. copy the location and executable command.. make a note as we have to find this.

Go to Windows Explorer, then choose from the menu. TOOL - FOLDER OPTIONS , the FILETYPES tab.  Locate DWG and change to the file that lauches DWGSEEPRO.

If that works, then great....

otherwise, you wil have to launch the viewer first ,then open the file (as  how you were doing).. then the answer is you can't.
