Help with the To field in Outlook

I am using Outlook.

I use contacts and have email addresses there for most of them.  How do I get Outlook to look in Contacts when I start typing an email address and complete it for me?  I can click on To and then Show names and selelct contacts and then type it there and it will complete the address for me but not at the first email screen.

Also, where can I create the Global Address List?  I am using Exchange for email.

Thanks,
Mark

Greetings, 9thTee.

You can also set the order in which those address lists are searched.  One minor correction to what rakeshmiglani posted, after you've opened the address book click Tools->Options.

Cheers!

Try Ctrl+K too! :)
First enable the autocpomplete via

TOOLS - OPTIONS - PREFERENCES - EMAIL OPTIONJS - ADVANCED EMAIL OPTIONS -
and tick the "Suggest names for the TO:, CC fields" and "Automatic namechecking' checkboxes.

Now after the mail has been addressed (longhand) the first time, the nickname cahce for future emails will be there.
The GAL is created by/on exchange.

It appears that the automatic name checking has been turned on but not the "suggest names" to fill the nickname cache.

Hard to tell where this asker stands.
