Print Shop & Print Perfect will not install on XP

I just bought Broderbund Print Shop Pro Publisher 20 software and when I go to install it, I get the following message notation: "_is32.tmp has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."  Each time I try it the number in _is??.tmp will change. once it was _is3b.tmp, the others have been _is4.tmp, _is5.tmp, etc.

I even tried using the Run mode and typing in D:\setup.exe and got the same problem.  I have not encountered this type error before.

LAST NIGHT (27 Mar) I PURCHASED Cosmi' PRINT PERFECT DELUXE AND I GOT THE SAME PROBLEM MESSAGE MENTIONED ABOVE, so it is not the software but a problem on my computer.  CAN ANYONE OFFER ME ANY HELP OR ADVISE ON WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT.  Thanks for any help you can offer me.

Broderbund requires administrator access, and I will bet that Print perfect does too.
You need to belong to the administrater group on this machine.

Are you using an account with administrative priveleges?
Do you have any other software running at the time that could be conflicting? Security software?

Identical issue - different installation:

Q: When trying to install the software, I receive an error message stating: "isNNAA.tmp has encountered a problem" (the NN would be a number and the AA would be a letter) The number and letter is different each time I try to install it. How do I install the software?

A:  We have found that this issue occurs when certain versions of Zone Alarm are installed. To correct this issue, please perform the following:

Click on the Start button.
Go to the Control Panel option
Click on Add/Remove Programs
Locate the Zone Alarm software on the list and click on the Remove button.
Once it is removed, open your My Computer from either your desktop or Start menu.
Double-click on your C: drive.
Double-click on the Windows folder
Double-click on the Temp folder
Once inside the Temp folder, go to the Edit menu and select the Select All option.
Go to the File menu and select the Delete option.
Close all windows and start the installation over again.
Once the software is installed, you can reinstall your ZoneAlarm software.

Is Broderbund Print Shop Pro Publisher 20 XP compatible, ie, is the Win XP logo on the box? Many Win 95, 98, NT, 2000 and ME apps will not run on XP.  Similar errors as you are experiencing will occur when trying to install a non-compatible application.
If this is not the case, do you have any antivirus applications running? If so, make they are disabled/turned off.  Sometimes it helps to boot in safe mode and install at that time.
