I'm looking to protect my application with serial numbers - i.e. when the user starts the application for the first time, they need to enter in a serial number, and the serial number will determine what sort of access the user has to the application.

If you have implemented your own or used a vendor's solution, please share your insights.

Hi khooc,
how about a control like
http://www.codeproject.com/vb/net/SerialNumberControl.asp
and look for role based security for User interface on google
e.g.
http://www.vbip.com/books/1861007477/chapter_7477_04.asp

Cheers!
