DCOM Servr Process Launcher hangs on boot - XP Pro

I have one PC in a Win2K3 domain that fails to launch the dcom service process launcher. The service is set to start automatically, but never gets past the 'starting' status and it throws an error in the event log which states that the service hung on starting. The service is properly defined as "svchost -k DcomLaunch"

I reconfigured the service to start manually, rebooted the pc, tried to start the service manually and it hangs during the attempted manual startup also.

Any ideas on how to debug this ?

TIA

The error in the event log is

The DCOM Server Process Launcher service hung on starting.
Source?
Category?
event ID?
src:     service control manager
event: 7022
cat:     none
type:   error
rockjodo, dcom problems are generally related to some other services problems, is this the only error you see on the event log?
There are some errors that come after this, but none before.
Are these errors related to other services failing or not starting?
Some are.  WIndows firewall can't start, but it depends on dcom.  In my experience, you need to solve the first error.

I'm going to rebuild the system. Thanks for your inputs
