Can Not Mount Mailbox Store - C104724

Can not mount mailbox store.....here is the scenario....

Need to recover some calendar items from exchange server #1.  (mail.domain.org)

Restored a backup to recovery exchange server located in different domain.....recovery.domain.org

Restore ran fine.  Forgot to check the box so it wants recovery to be ran.

Ran ESEUTIL /r  on the restored database....soft recovery performed successfully.

Tried to mount, still fails, with same error.

THis is the only copy of this database I have and I must get it mounted.  Do no have the original backup any longer.
NEED HELP!

Have read much but still have problem.  Please advise.  thanks.

In Exchange System Manager, the mailbox store shows the name of the source server  -1730Wexchgweb(.calvaryspringfield.org).  The target is 1730Wrecover(.recovery.calvaryspringfield.org)

Just fyi
if you run eseutil /mh on the database, does it show you as clean shutdown?

do you have event id 1088 in the application logs?

is the ORG/SITE and Server name the same?
Here is ESEUTIL /mh......dirty shutdown...

MDB failed to start.

u mentioned that you had run eseutil /r.. did it complete?

if you search for a file with the name of restore.env, do you find it? if yes then what is the size?

there is a check box in the propeties of the mailbox store called <this database can be overwritten by a restore> is that checked

we have to bring the database to a consistent state before it can be mounted
the database requires 2 logs to become consistent
Log Required: 5689-5690 (0x1639-0x163a)

do you have these logs

is the public folder store mounted?
Public store not mounted.

I have the restore.env file
I have the 2 logs created by the restore.
I ran a recovery and it completed ok.  Apparently, not true.
What do I need to do.....please be specific.  thanks
I have logs 1639 and 163a.
Found microsoft article 821511 which lined up pretty well with problem.

Ran ESEUTIL /CC as described in the article.  Here is the cmd line output for the command:

Been here once before about a year ago.  Started ADSI EDIT using information in
MS Article ID : 280652
MS Article ID : 273863

However, I am at the same place I was back then......the CN=CONFIGURATION does not show up in ADSI EDIT.  Had that problem before---- see:

it is also mentioned that this recovery exchange is installed in recovery.domain.org domain

did you check via adsiedit.msc in this domain to look for the CONFIGURATION container?

is the account that you are using has the required access permission?

are you checking the root domain (connecting to a GC/DC in the root domain)?

Do you have anything in the "Lost and Found container" in adsiedit.msc?

have you tried using LDP.exe to access this CONFIGURATION container?
Answers:

did you check via adsiedit.msc in this domain to look for the CONFIGURATION container?  YES not there.  Looked
in regular production domain and not there either.  It is just not showing up.  I remember getting it to show up
last year, but did not document what I did.

is the account that you are using has the required access permission?  using administrator

are you checking the root domain (connecting to a GC/DC in the root domain)?  no, just this special recovery domain.

Do you have anything in the "Lost and Found container" in adsiedit.msc?   NO

have you tried using LDP.exe to access this CONFIGURATION container?  No, not yet

Also ran ldifde utility and did export to look at what needed changed.  Here is the export of that:

OK....have downloaded the LegacyDN utility and installed it.  Started it up.

Before I continue, I want to make sure I am doing the correct thing......

Here is the values that are primed into the utility when I click on the EXISTING ADMINISTRATIVE GROUPS:

CHANGE ORGANIZATION NAME TO:   Recovery

CHANGE ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP NAME TO:   First Administrative Group

CHANGE LEGANCYDN STEM VALUE TO:   /o=Recovery/ou=First Administrative Group

Now here again is the 1088 error:

distinguished name (DN) /O=CALVARY TEMPLE/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN= of
message database "First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (1730WEXCHGWEB)" does not match the DN of
directory /O=RECOVERY/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=.

These will be the changes in the utility:

CHANGE ORGANIZATION NAME TO:   Calvary Temple

CHANGE ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP NAME TO:   First Administrative Group

CHANGE LEGANCYDN STEM VALUE TO:   /o=Calvary Temple/ou=First Administrative Group

CORRECT?????

that is correct.. all the best.. i am here for another 15 minutes

"CN=First Administrative Group,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=Recovery,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=recovery,DC=calvaryspringfield,DC=org"

the above path shows that the CN=Configuration container is present in AD

Went ahead with the changes....did the verify and tried to mount the store again....

Get error....

The store could not be mounted because the Active Directory information was not replicated....you can either..........

I clicked RETRY

Gets C1041722 error
The Microsoft Exchange Information Store Service could not find the specified object

reboot the recovery domain GC/DC and this recovery exchange server
I played around little more,......restarted all the exchange services and IT MOUNTED!!!
You have been VERY HELPFUL!!!!
Thank you so much.
