See this tech note: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21087474

If you're using a standard document library from the template, and haven't modified it to display differently, then you might have to separate the (affected) documents.

Basically you've reached a notes limit as to what can be displayed in the view

How many documents are in that library? What Notes/Domino releases are you using?

I must say that I don't see this error very often. Usually, it is caused by a field on a form that has a formula which retrieves a lot of data from a view (for some good reason).  It might be that you put all your documents into one single category. Or you have too many categories (>5000?). To really find out what the problem is, I'd have to touch the real database...

There might be an upgrade available for this template that no longer has this problem. An other "solution" might be to split the library into two or more different databases.

I'm with Sjef on this, there's no limit as to what can be displayed in the view.

Here's very good list of LN known limits:

Similar on EE:

Hope this helps,

Sorry, didn't mean to apply that the VIEW had too many documents in it,  the field referenced in the view COLUMN had too many characters to be displayed in the view.  As what the link says.
