Default Password for Cisco 2948G Switch

I have configured my Cisco 2948G switch so that I can configure it with a GUI.  But when I attempt to access the GUI, I am asked for a username and password.  As I have not set one, I  leave the fields empty and press enter.  A screen appears stating the text listed below.  According to the instructions on the Cisco site, I should be prompted to download an installation file so that I can access the switch or shown the GUI website for the switch.  Can anyone help me?

You need to set a local user name and password, i.e.
username brendan password DiLbErT

Also, you need to make sure that the html files are there:
dir flash:

Make sure there's a directory called html in there.

How do I set the default password?  I am pretty sure the files are there when I check the flash memory, but I don't know how to create a username and password.
