Visio Viewer Install crashing Outlook

most of the time uninstalling/reinstalling will not cure things that went wrong in the registry

1. uninstall the viewer if not done already
2. uninstall outlook
3. use the office removal wizard > source: http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/assistance/HA011401771033.aspx
4. use the windows installer cleanup > source: http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;290301 
5. reboot

then according to version from lower to higher

6. install outlook again
7. install the visio viewer

Tried both of the above, install/ reinstall, etc.  The fix was to recreate the Outlook profile, and so far the problem has not repeated itself. thanks.
