Using DAO functionality (I know I need to use ADO, but don't have the time right now)
If I compile the project in VS 6, it works fine
Compile in VS 8, I get this error -2147221164 on a Windows 98 machine.
I installed DAO 3.5 on the machine, but it didn't fix the problem.

You can have a look at:  (Calling DAO Directly While Using MFC DAO Classes) (Custom DFX Routines for DAO Database Classes)

Thanks for the input.  I intend to try Lakshman's idea next time I have access to this computer.
It does work OK on Win2K machines.
