Dell Inspiron screen does not turn on.

hi there,

I have a problem with a Dell Inspiron 6000, the computer turns on but the display never comes up. It is a brad new laptop and am not sure what to do. Any ideas?

    If it's brand New, I'd call Dell and explain to them what the problem is.  If not a quick easy fix then send it back for an exchange.  Dell's Policy is an exchange can be done within 30 days of manufacture.  If any problem exist don't want to get caught with a lemon when the opportunity is available to resolve everything now.

    plug in aqn externernal monitor and see if you can get video on it. If the external has video that means either the lcd is bad or has a bad connection. If the external also gets no vidoe we may have a video card problem or the systems not completing post.
