I have been having a problem sending replies to emails that I recieved from my BES.  I can compose and send emails from my Blackberry just fine.  The problem is that if I receive an email and want to send a reply, that reply comes back with a Red X next to it.  The status in the message reads "Message includes an unknown attachment".  I don't get it because there is no attachment in the message.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

Hi,

there is a technical report on it on the BlackBerry Support website:
http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/8021/7919/8125/Support_-_Message_included_an_unknown_attachment.html?nodeid=155272&vernum=0

saying:
Problem
An X appears next to a message sent from the handheld. The message status displays the following:

Message included an unknown attachment

Resolution
Perform a hard reset on the handheld and restart the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service. For more information about hard resets see KB-02141.

If this does not fix the problem, follow these instructions:

Remove the user from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
Stop the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service.
Add the user to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
Start the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service.

best regards,
Draak

Hi Draak,

Thanks very much for the info.  I will work with my BES admin tomorrow to see if this will work.  I really appreciate your help.

Best regards,
