Fastest LAN communication

this Q is for those who have experience or good sources about the performance of different LAN solutions for Delphi. I am building a DB engine which is much faster then Interbase when LAN communication is not used, but all the speed is gone because of the slow LAN communication.  I am desperately looking for the fastest technology for LAN.

I have solved it, and was not difficult at all. Previously one record was sent  at a time. Feeding many records to a buffer, and sending them together made it much faster. :)
