Whats This Software ?

I need the best software (I have windows 98 and XP Pro), which would be fully free (but not a free trial ware) and cleans

Temporary InternetFiles
Temp files
Cleans Registry and repairs
Detects Spyware and other *wares ... and deletes them.
Frees up disk space.

The software should be the best, fully free and does the above things.

If you can find out the best s/w I will give you full 500 points, besides this question points.
4 Solutions
I know a good one & I'm also using.. it's "HijakThis". This is completely free & helps to track spyware & delete them.
Download link:~ http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

For registry you can go with RegCleaner, which is a very good one to track registry errors & repair.

Download RegCleaner:~

ok ... wait plz ... I will try the asap ... thanks.
The best software I found which does all of what you want is called System Mechanic. Its absolutely fantastic. Cleans everything u say. I use it quite often.
But a free version of this is CCleaner

CCCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/) - CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system and contains no spyware or adware. CCleaner cleans IE, firefox, windows, registry, and third party appps

Other freebies

Latest version of IE also cleans cookies now, so both temp files and cookies are gone
Free spyware removal software are ad-ware from lavasoft  (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/)
and spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/)
microsoft anti-spyware (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=321CD7A2-6A57-4C57-A8BD-DBF62EDA9671&displaylang=en)

hijack this is very good and so is their support (which MilanKM has already mentioned)

For anti-virus, u can get free ones from AVG (http://www.grisoft.com/doc/1) and Avast (http://www.avast.com/). Panda also do a free online one

I also recommend you get a firewall. This will help stop virus's and spyware connecting to the net
one of the best free ones is of course zone alarm

I know system mechanic is not free.
About firewall, I will post a separate question here.
The microsoft link does not work.
What do you mean by ...Free spyware removal software are ad-ware from lavasoft... ?
Adware ?
Spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/)  ? whats Spybot ?
obviously posted an old ms link then. try this one http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Spyware removal software that is good Ad-ware and Spybot. Have a look at the websites then you know what it is

I found you get different results from different software.

I use System Mechanic and Xoft for spyware removal

I am getting very confused here.

I will run CCleaner in my PC and ...

What is the simplest  Registry repair and cleaner software (fully free - not free trial) there ?
CCCleaner is free. All that I have listed are free (except System Mechanic)

Sorry to confuse you but I am merely giving you other options for you to try

Ad-ware and Spybot and MS link simply do spyware removal. I know of people who have both loaded and a sure way of getting their systems clean.

I guess its for you to try which one suits you best. Do you want one handy tool (like System Mechanic and CCCleaner) or do you want separate tools like the others I mentioned.

Its only until you try software do you realise whether you like using it or not, whether it suits your purpose or not. I hope you know what I mean.

When I give advice like this, I like to give them my recommendation plus other alternatives, since different people have different tastes.

Plz wait let me evaluate them one by one --- but I stll dont get a clear-cut solution from you, but I get multiple answers, which are very confusing.

You have posted links of My Questions here in EE.

TuneUp is not Free - is it ?
  - Cookies
  - Temporary InternetFiles
  - Temp files
use Windows Explorer ;) Just go to the folder:

  C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR_USERNAME>\Local Settings

and delete everything from the:

"Temporary Internet Files" (cookies and temp int. files)
  "Temp" (temp files)

:) it's that easy :)

For "Cleans Registry and repairs" I don't know what you mean by
cleaning. Do you want to clean up unused items (can be dangerous)
or you want to clean the startup sections so you can control what
programs are started up upon Windows boot? If you want the
second, then use HijackThis, download it from the author's site:
(it's a free tool)

HijackThis is also used for "Detects Spyware and other *wares"
but doesn't delete them. Anyway, it shows you the location of every
pest, so you can delete it manually.

"Frees up disk space" (this is very global, you should really do it by
yourself and not some automated process or software, and later
make yourself more troubles loosing important data)
