Recommend me some wireless bridging equipment

Greetings everyone.

I've got 5 sites that I would like to network together. The layout is that I've got one site that is in the middle of it all, with the 4 other sites having line-of-sight to the main one. The distances are 500 feet on one site, 1/4 mile on a couple, and about 1 mile on one link.

I'm just thinking some simple wireless bridging here. In the past I've created wireless links such as this using Linksys WAP54G Access points in a one-to-one bridge configuration. For any kind of distance, I've been using Hawking Technologies for the wireless antennas. This combination seems to work pretty good and the price isn't too bad.

So, if you were in my shoes, what hardware would you use to set this up? Is Linksys my best bet, or is there something else I should be looking at? My goal here is cheap and reliable.
Watch Question

If you have some strict budget, then Linksys WAP with External Antenna is the best bet. However if you think of longer term availability, then I would rather suggest to go for Enterprise Level Wireless Bridges rather than Home / SOHO Access Points.

If you think in that like, then I would suggest SMC's Wireless Enterprise Access Points.
