squid cache web interface login problem

I've installed and configured for squid for a  basic proxying and cahing and its working fine.

I  want to use the WWW interface to the Cache Manager, I just copied the cachemgr.cgi script to the approprate location and http://**.**.**.**/cgi-bin/cachemgr.cgi can let me access the page, but the problem is I am not able to logon.Does it have a default name and password?....any ideas pls?

Thanks in advance

I am using Centos 4.
It works fine for me, i just need to login using root.

Cache host: localhost
Cache port: 3128
Managername: root
Password: password

Btw, if you are trying to generate graphs, usages, blablabla.
Why not try Webalizer?
I love webalizer, it's builtin with RedHat/Fedora, it's easy to configure, and it's nice.
More squid log analyser can be found at http://www.squid-cache.org/Scripts/

Just let me know if you need help on webalizer.

good luck!!!

Hi kiitii,
Please look at cachemgr_passwd in your /etc/squid/squid.conf file. Also look at http_access allow manager in that file too.
Try to change these 2 lines:-

cache_mgr    cacheadmin
cachemgr_passwd    my-secret-pass    all

Good luck
When you login,

Cache host: localhost
Cache port: 3128
Managername: cacheadmin
Password:  my-secret-pass
