Printing problems Lexmark c750

Have just bought a 2 y/o Lexmark C750 Colour laser for use on a small SOHO p2p network - no print server.  Found the latest lexmark.inf driver and installed it; wizard recognised it, and it appears on the list of printers.  It self-tests beautifully, but it won't print from apps.  Any suggestions?  It was used on an office network before this.

I'll assume you use a network card in the printer (as you mentioned p2p).

In that case, can you ping the printer? Have you assigned an IP address to the printer? Do your PCs run TCP/IP? Do you get any error messages when you try to print? Does the printer ever receive data?

Please give us some more information.

The answer lay in the TCPPIP, and the moment I saw it, I knew;  but then again, if someone hadn't bothered to answer, I'd still be wondering why my USB wasn't working.  A metre of network cable, and bam!  Thanks.
