DNS problem on freeBSD 6.0

I've messed up my DNS somehow.  I can still access sites by IP address, but not name.  'dig google.com' for instance says ';; connection timed out; no servers could be reached'

my /etc/resolv.conf has

domain  microconsulting.com
nameserver      206.81.192.1

my /etc/rc.conf has

defaultrouter=65.101.139.206 hostname=freebsd.microconsulting.com
ifconfig_xl0="inet 65.101.139.204  netmask 255.255.255.0" ipv6_enable="YES"
linux_enable="YES"
sendmail_enable="NONE"
moused_enable="YES"

The problem started after installing tomcat 5.5 ...

NopiusCommented:
1) Do you really need  ipv6_enable="YES" ? If not, please disable.
2) defaultrouter and hostname should be on different lines.

This server: 206.81.192.1 works fine, I've just checked. Even for recursive lookups.

My suggestions are:
1) Check: /etc/nsswitch.conf
hosts: files dns
2) Check your firewall rules:
run
nslookup google.com 206.81.192.1
if it doesn't work - it's a network problem
