Descipher.java and Des3cipher.java

Dear All,

I am supposed to encrypt and decrypt password in my application. I have been given Acme.crypto package. This package contains various encryption and decryption algorithms such as Descipher.java and Des3cipher.java

These algorithms are quite popular over  the intenet users.

Does anyone has got idea about the basic difference between Descipher.java and Des3cipher.java.

Can someone provide me with the documentation part of the algorithms.

Regards

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
