RICOH Aficio 2051 User Code

Hello Experts,

We are running a Windows 2003 domain with workstations that vary from Windows 98 to Windows XP.  Our company has recently bought a new RICOH Aficio 2051, and management would like to track how much each department prints to them.  In order to do this when the printer is installed on the user’s workstation then that user would need to put in their departments user code.  Is their anyway to automate this with some sort of scripting or anything, so that we could install the printer on the workstations and put in the appropriate user code based on the information in Active Directory?

The inbuilt user code tracking is on a per workstation basis:
you can enter a user code in the printer driver, and then, depending on model, set up user access in either the web based address book or using the smart device manager for admin user tool.(this software comes with the copier, on the print driver disk).

Some of the Ricoh  machines can interface with AD using openLDAP, not sure if the 2051 will, or how easily.

First step is to enter the copier's IP address in the address bar of a web browser, and enter admin mode (username sysadm, password password)
