Info site + Online Shop or Info Site with Online Shop

Hi,

Just wondering if there are any statistics out there of what works best for making sales.

I've seen that some people have a Website with info about their company and products etc... and then they link to their online shop. And some have their online shop as their front end but integrate some info pages about their company etc...

In your experience what do you think/ or know works best?

Thanks
Ant

The layout should really reflect your core business either way.

Site + Shop
Some people who buy pre-built carts (or have them offered with their hosting package) have difficulty integrating them into their site layout and end up with a store that looks like it was an afterthought.  Others have very few products to offer and need to fill out the content one way or another.

Shop + Site
Most people with the shop + site layout are trying to pick up extra traffic by offering content.  If the content is legitimately good, then it's worth doing.  If it's not part of the core business or isn't maintainable, stay away.

Site + shop.

Your company is bigger than your shop. Shop is a part of your company so you shud have a link to shop from your site.

Moreover a shop is important because it is easier promoting it.
