Using ConsoleOne with Samba

I'm trying to get ConsoleOne 1.3.6 setup on windows so that I can manage a GroupWise 7 system that is running on SLES9.  As far as I know you must first enable samba on the SLES system which I have.  But I cannot successfuly connect to the domain from ConsoleOne in Windows.

What may be going on here?  What are the proper steps to get this rolling?  Thanks!.

Can you connect to the GroupWise share from Windows?  You have to have basic access before C1 can connect.

You don't just "enable samba" - you have to configure it so you can see the server and access the "share" on the server using Windows Explorer.

Did you follow the instructions to configure your Samba "share?" :

(Ignore the parts about Exchange unless you're migrating, and if you're doing "workgroup" and not a Windoze domain, adjust the instructions accordingly)

Thanks Shineon, though that doc helped some, it didn't solve the real reason for it not working.  The directory must have write rights turned on for all which was not the case.  So I just chmod -R 777 the domain, and good to go.  I did tighten dow the security with samba rights tho!  Thanks.
Oooh.  777 on the domain?  Is that recommended?
