PDF Programming Tutorial

Does anybody know of a good tutorial or book that describes the Adobe PDF format?

Thanks in advance.

Most of the documents are available for free, it's just the code samples that you only get by paying. There are books about forms creation with JavaScript, but I am not aware of anything else. You can buy training from http://www.pdfsages.com (the only company that sells SDK training for Adobe).

The PDF Spec from Adobe is the only book I know of. You can download it from ADobe's web site. It is however not a tutorial, it just describes the PDF format.

You can find the PDF reference here: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/pdf/index_reference.html

If you want to use Adobe tools, you need to get a number of documents from ADobe's Acrobat SDK: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/acrobat/sdk/index.html - the full SDK comes with samples

Yes, I have been using the PDF 1.6 spec. I was hoping someone wrote a how-to book to suppliment it. I will look at the SDK. It costs 100 dollars.
