is the remote computer XP or Win2k/2k3 server?
deleting the MSLicensing reg key has worked for me when I had the same issue. Delete it on the XP machine. A new key will be generated the next time you connect.
hi,

1.Troubleshooting Remote Desktop Licensing Error Messages:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/librar...

http://www.howtonetworking.com/RemoteAccess/tsls.htm
2.Has this client previously been running on a temporary license or a permanent one (called "Existing Windows 2000 TS CAL" in TS Licensing Manager)? Anything in the EventLog on the TS when the connection is refused?
I assume you have a TS Licensing Server installed and activated? And verified that the TS can locate the LS?
What happens when you delete the license from the client? Is it then able to connect once, not at all, or does this solve the problem?

use a new vnc program?
If you're going to use VNC instead of Remote Desktop, use UltraVNC (http://www.uvnc.com/) ... has support for encryption and it's a free product.
real vnc is another option but have a look at what suits your needs
RealVNC is a nice product... thing is you have to pay for the licenses if you want the version that does encryption.
well either way a vnc program owuld be a good option :)
What is the exact error message
and what is the corresponding application to system Event error message
