Symbol P360 batch scanner

We have a Symbol p360 batch scanner which will be scanning item into our tracking system.
One of the things we need the scanner to do is give us a time date stamp when something is scanned.
Im looking for info on this.
I think we need to use the MCL Designer software to accomplish this.
Does anyone have experiance in this?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Have you had a look at the free Symbols 123Scan utility software at - it may be able to help as it enables you to program the scanner via ADF rules to alter the barcode data before it's transmitted back to the back-end.  It's help file is available at if you want an overview of the type of thing it can do.
