Amavisd will Start but Won't Stop, reload or restart????

I have configured amavisd, Postfix and Spammassassin on CentOS 4.1.
All starts fine but when Amavisd is started I noticed that the process is not running.
So if I try to stop, reload or restart I get:

Shutting down amavisd: No PID file /var/amavis/amavisd.pid, can't stop the process

And If I do A Debug I get:

[root@spam-relay amavis]# ./amavisd debug

If anyone has any input please help...

Your error is:
No such group "amavis"

Add a group with name amavis to the machine or change the setting daemon_group in amavis.conf to an existing group.
