Adobe reader hangs in outlook

When opening an PDF file in outlook 2003 that was an attachemnt to an e-mail, it appears that adobe reader hangs and after several minutes I have to kill the adobe application in task manager. If I save the file to the local pc and then open it in adobe reader it works fine. I have tried with both 6.0 and 7.0 versions of adobe reader installed. I have this happening on only a single laptop the other ones seem to work fine. Does anyone have any ideas on this issue.

Thanks for your input grin king, I will pass this along to the user having the problem. He is on the road this week so I don't know if I wil get a responce from him until later this week. We are on a domain and each user has their own laptop so there is no sharing. I will have him delete the temp files while he is out of the office, but I will look into his profile after he is back as I do not want him to make any changes to his profile while he is on the road (could be disaster waiting to happen).
