sending mail via smtp

We have had an SBS2k3 server installed and exchange sending mail via smtp to our ISP for about 18 months.

We have just installed a new photocopies which can e-mail scanned documents.  In order to forward the mail it sends via an smtp server.  I have configured the copier but the SMTP connector on the server will not allow the mail but does not give an error code or message.  I have setup the relay etc etc but nothing appears to work.

If I set up an e-mail account in outlook and try to send via smtp the error says "check e-mail address field"
Any ideas?????

Thanks for your help

    Hi Potts2002,

If you have Exchange installed and are using the POP3 Connector for your mail, your OUTBOUND email is going via your Exchange server, so the SMTP server that you need to specify for your new photocopier would be the SBS, either it's Hostname (servername), it's FQDN (servername.domain.local), or it's IP Address.

I'm not sure what you are meaning by the test you did in Outlook... providing specifics would be needed in order to know why you got that error.  But if the above suggestion works for you, then obviously that's not necessary.
