Calculating MD5 value for large files

I have large files with size more then 6GB .....I have a few applications who calculate the MD5 value....but they r way too slow....can u plz suggest me an application which calculates the MD5 Value faster ???

    There isn't a way to do this.  The MD5 hash is a hash of the entire file's the algorithm needs to iterate across all the bytes in the file to perform its job.

    You could try a different hash algorithm which might be faster, like one of the SHA hashes, now that md5 has proven collisions.

    I used digestIT on a four-year-old computer (nothing special) and it calculated a MD5 hash on a 650 MB file in 14 seconds.
