Trying to do a restore with NTBACKUP

Hello,
I have backed up some files using Windows NTBACKUP on Server 20003.  I tried restoring one file that is 5 folders deep into the directory structure.
NTBACKUP runs the restore, but the log file only indicates that the folders where restored.  Why isn't the file being restored?  Does it NOT restore the file if the original file is in the original location?  If the original file exists, does it do a CRC check or something to make sure the file is not corrupt, and then not restore it if the original file passes the CRC check?

I need to test that the restore will work and it this is causes me much doubt.

Why isn't it restoring the file?

Thanks

Check the restore options are set correctly re overwriting existing files.. You probably need to overwrite the files - copy the originals elswhere first if you need them, if there is a problem with the backup it may overwrite with corrupt data.
