PROCESSES IN TASK MANAGER

HI
I JUST WANNA KNOW ABOUT SOME PROCESSES THAT APPEARS IN TASK MANAGER AND HOW TO TOTALLY  REMOVE OR EXCUTE THEM DUE TO I'VE READ ABOUT SOME OF THEM, THEY ARE TROJANS AND SPYWARES FOR EXAMPLE " WSCNTFY.EXE ".
taisanahAsked:
Who is Participating?
I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

actually, here's some info on wscntfy:
http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/wscntfy.exe.html

Here's a Windows process library:
http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/

anything running in task manager is either a process that you have started explicitly, or an internal OS process, or a process that was started automatically at boot (via the registry or start menu).

Install sysinternals 'autoruns' and it will tell you all the programs that are getting called at boot:

It would depends where the "wscntfy.exe" is  running from, a lot of viruses/trojans are camouflaging Windows files to avoid detection.
If "wscntfy.exe" is located in System32 folder then it is okay, it belongs to windows.

wscntfy.exe --> is a part of the Microsoft Windows Security system and outputs the current security status of your computer. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

But if it is located somewhere else, e.g. in Windows folder or WinNT folder
then it is the --> Troj/Banker-FZ a password stealing Trojan

Process Explorer from sysinternal is a good one that shows you a lot of information on every processes that's loaded.
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html

If you think you have viruses/trojans then run antivirus/malware scanners (Ewido is a good one as already suggested)
Or, let us see your Hijackthis log if you have one as already suggested.

But try running Ewido in Safe Mode as I suggested above and you should be out of trouble very easily without going into HJT cleanups.
