Website SEO and Online Marketing

Hi everybody,

I have a couple of questions. I have been reading and researching as much as I can about SEO and have a couple of questions. One of my questions are keywords still relivant to use in the Meta tags?? We have a very low starting budget for online marketing is there any other free sources of advertising?? I have also been researching into making a press release but have not come up with any sites I would submit it to. Also I thought I had read in a tutorial about SEO that you can put all of your keywords into an excel document and have that linked from your site and that would boost your ranking is this true?? Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

1.Yes meta tags are still used and are reliable.

2.You have limited budget then you can go in for seo instead of adv and adwords.

3.Prweb.com , pressbox .co.uk for press release is good.

4.Sorry never heard abt this excel thing.

Keywords are used in the meta but only target a set amount of keywords do not overdo the amount of keywords that you include, try to mirror some of the keywords in the description to. Make a sentance about the site that includes some of the main keywords.

SEO is always the cheaper of all the online marketing because you can ammend the webpage to naturally rank well. Advertising and Sponsored links are where money is usually needed. Sometimes yhou may want to buy some links on hether website. these can vary in price massively, I have paid £90 for a link for 1 year but have also paid £3000 for a link on 1 page for 1 year...

Never done press releases so cant help you with that, ASHISH's links look good tho

Exel import,,, you may be able to include a csv file and refer to it using a php include line but other than using that method i havent heard anything on that code might be

<meta name="keywords" contents="<? include 'keywords.csv' ?>">

Thanks for all your guys useful information. Is there a way to hide our keywords from the outside??? So if a competitor comes to the site and selects view source they cannot see our keywords??? Also is there any free program you guys could recomment for SEO like keyword analyze or link analyze or search engine position.

Shane this line of code

<meta name="keywords" contents="<? include 'keywords.csv' ?>">

Will this work?? Would we have this link to this file then have the keywords listed there too? Thanks!

In the source you will always be able to see the code and the keywords, i dont think there is a way around this.

I shouldnt see why the code it wouldn't work it is well worth a try.

With usung include you can use anything from a txt file to a htm file php etc, it brings in the lines of text that are in this file and INCLUDES them.

If you're new to website promotion/seo then i suggest you gain knowledge of seo by reading articles and blogs before jumping to a software.
