PPTP wont go through Wathguard X700 firewall

I opened ports tcp 1273 and ip 47 and pointed to PPTP vpn server. I get a deny log on firewall:

firewalld[108]:  deny in eth0 48 tcp 20 107 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 1239 1723 syn (PPTP)

I tried opened everything on myself with no luck. Any idea? thanks!

the port necessary for pptp is 1723, not 1273

Hi inf2300,

If the VPN server is behind a router, Port Mapping will need to be done on the router.
Standard port usage is 1723 for PPTP. You might also need to configure your router for PPTP Passthrough. Port usage for IPSec is 500, 50-51. These ports will have to be forwarded to the VPN server's local IP address

By ;"I opened ports tcp 1273 and ip 47 and pointed to PPTP vpn server", I assume it means in the WatchGuard firewall configuration you set up a rule ("Custom Service") allowing all TCP port 1723 (not 1273 as pointed out earlier) to the appropriate VPN server, and a second rule allowing IP Protocol 47 in the same way. Do not create any incoming filters until you have it working.
